Jalakandeshwarar Temple

The auspicious Akhilandeswari Sametha Jalakandeswarar Temple is situated within the Vellore Fort. It was built in the 16th century by Chinna Bommi Nayak under the Vijayanagara Empire. The Ayrangal Mandapam(Thousand pillar Mandapam located in this temple is a fine example of Vijayanagara Empire sculpture. Inside the entrance gate of the fort, the intricately sculpted Kalyana Mandapam on the left side is a fine testament to the timeless architecture.

Opening Timings: 6.30 AM to 1.00 PM and 3.00 PM to 8.30 PM
